'Crom Dubh', Kilkenny Limestone Sculpture with Gold Leaf
Stone sculpture by Sonia Caldwell. 48 x 28 x 24 cm. Price on application.
"My figure is an artistic representation of Crom Dubh. He was a pagan deity who’s name means dark bent one. He was considered to be the god of the harvest and carried on his back the first great sheaf of wheat, the inaugural and sacred gift from the Otherworld. Crom Dubh Sunday is still marked at harvest time in some parts of Ireland."
