ABOUT WEST CORK CREATES
West Cork Creates is a unique exhibition showing works of the highest standard by artists, craftspeople, photographers and designers who are based in the region.
The exhibition is curated by Alison Ospina and organised by a small committee of dedicated volunteers.
Each year we send out an Open Call for Cork-based artists and craftspeople to take part in the exhibition and propose artworks inspired by a particular theme. We also include the work of one 'Invited Artist' per year from outside of the region to participate.

In 2010, the West Cork Craft & Design Guild was invited to put on an exhibition in a temporary venue in Skibbereen, as part of the annual Taste of West Cork Food Festival, which takes place in September. It was very well received and went on to take place every year after that, in the much larger O’Driscoll Building, Levis’ Quay.

In 2020, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it was decided that the physical exhibition would not go ahead, but instead the gallery and shop would move online, to the newly created website. In 2021, conditions were deemed safe enough for a physical exhibition to go ahead in our usual location. In 2023, the exhibition is moving to an exciting new location, Cnoc Bui, in Unionhall, 15 mins drive from Skibbereen and 5 minutes from Leap and Glandore.
